Names ranging from toilet, lavatory, latrine and

Washroom to restroom are used

To indicate a small room

Meant for releasing liquid or solid body wastes

To be honest, each individual dislikes

Looking at another person’s body wastes

Such as urine, stool, sputum and phlegm

Because they are unpleasant to the eye

Some are smelly

Spewing nasal and throat secretions

On the floor of a washroom

Definitely annoys other users

The act of defecating on the floor of a toilet

And fleeing thereafter

Is a baser behaviour

Let us be disciplined

Whenever we use the washroom/toilet

Whenever your body wastes mistakenly drop

Use the brush/broom

To clean up the place

And also clean the cistern immediately after use

You need water to cleanse your body after defecating

Make sure you go along with it

if there’s none inside the restroom

Drop your cigarette butts in the dust bin

And not on the floor

Don’t use a toilet

In a way that would annoy other users

And make them throw insults at you

Never use a toilet anyhow

Hoping that a cleaner will do the cleaning

Remember that the cleaner

Is a fellow human being like you

Don’t deface the wall of a washroom with your phlegm

Adopt decent acts while using the toilet

And after using the toilet,

Wash your two hands with soap and water

Hand hygiene prevents diseases

Always cover up any part of the toilet

That needs to be covered

Close the door of the toilet before you leave

Effective sanitation of a restroom

Reduces spread of germs

A toilet that irks users

Is a disease vector
