Sometimes, ugly incidents, sudden death, misfortune

Which were caused by some people’s carelessness or lapses

Do occur to innocent people

Those who were close to the victim

Would wonder why such bad incidents befell them

A Yoruba Adage says:

Whenever a wrongdoer is being punished for their wrong deed

Righteous/innocent people may likely share part of their punishments

Sometimes, in a classroom

When few students make noise

All the students will be punished

Failure to switch off an electric gadget by a neighbour

May raze a big building to the ground

And destroy the properties of other co-tenants

A careless mistake made by a car driver

Could claim the life of a family’s breadwinner

The curse on a man

Who had maltreated and jilted his girl friend in the past

May hinder his wife from getting pregnant

Causing his wife to be unhappy for long

The same could happen to a lady who jilted a man

That had sponsored her education till she succeeded

A worker who forgets

To carry out certain precaution in a factory

May ruin a huge investment

And render many people jobless

And also  put them in pitiful conditions

An error made by the head of an organisation

Can shut down a whole establishment

One person can create a great change

One person can destroy a great cause

Don’t just leave someone unchecked

When given a task that concerns you or others

Assign a person to go round and check the electric gadgets and appliances in a firm

When other workers had left the factory

Let’s take every possible step to forestall

Bad incidents that can be averted or

That which emanated from mistakes and ill-deeds of others

Let’s be prayerful to pre-empt evils.
